My Quick little post before bed....

Sooooo many fun things to talk about, so many new crafts to show and so many great memories but for now I am a sleepy but still up because I haven't been home in a week and have managed to find a million things to do including burning Straight No Chaser CDs for all of my friends because their concert last night was AMAZING to say the least!!!!   Anddd while burning the CDs that I want to bring for the girls tomorrow at girls group and send to Liz a.s.a.p.  I have a moment to share my newest exciting antique treasure and its inspiration:

Check out my new-antique school desk (and other stuff) and before you question what I want to do with it.....

Check out how cute this idea is in Country Living is (I couldn't find it online so I had to take a picture of the magazine article inspiration).

I think these things especially the desk has some awesome potential!!!  So far everyone I have talked to says don't stain or paint it...what do you think???  I am wishing I could sand and stain the top or just paint the whole thing white because of my new obsession with white everything buttttt it is a pretty cool authentic desk and I might just love it when it is all cleaned up just as it is!

2nd post for the night- could little L be any more beautiful?????

Before I post the little L's cutie picture I have to put some song lyrics in my blog that I think little L's momma would love:

Thank you Taylor Swift for writing my newest favorite song....I know I am a dorkkkk but I love the song "Never Grow Up" here are the first few lines:

~~~~~
Your little hand's wrapped around my finger
And it's so quiet in the world tonight
Your little eyelids flutter cause you're dreaming
So I tuck you in, turn on your favorite night light
To you everything's funny
You got nothing to regret
I'd give all I have, honey
If you could stay like that
Oh darling, don't you ever grow up
Don't you ever grow up
Just stay this little
Oh darling, don't you ever grow up
Don't you ever grow up
It could stay this simple
I won't let nobody hurt you
Won't let no one break your heart
And no one will desert you
Just try to never grow up
Never grow up
~~~~

I KNOW her mom and dad agree but WOW these blue eyes are AMAZING!  What a sweet little girl!

'

Awhhhhhhhhhh---that is ALL I can say!  Tabitha and Matt your little L is beautiful!

same picture-different editing....I LOVE Aperture 3...maybe someday I would love to buy my own copy but until then I am having fun with my 30 day trial!

Pretty sure this pretty girl picture reminded Tabs of her husband and little L's daddy Matt....  If little L could be half as amazing as her parents she is going to be one VERY BLESSED little girl!

xoxo Little L and the TABS and MATT fam-wishes from the KLEBIG family for a blessed Thanksgiving day-SO much to be thankful for including you TWO oooh wait----THREE!!!!

My garbage smells like vomit and other reason why I am not in Erie tonight...

Sooooo  let me explain my garbage first....I HATE eating leftovers.... I know this is a BAD thing to admit seeings how T-day (as in THANKFUL day ANNDDD TURKEY day) is upon us, BUTTTTT RARELY do I like the ever popular thanksgiving day (or anyday) leftovers, even if I have the BESTTT of intentions most often my leftovers go to waste.  Soooo needless to say I cleaned my kitchen last night in preparation for my week away at my sister LIZZIES andddd now my garbage smells like vomit....  lesson learned... (kind of)  ----eat the left overs or bring them straight to the trash outside to avoid the smell-age.

Sooo yeah, my trip to Trader Joe's and the traffic in Ann Arbor after my trip to this organically and uniquely inclined store initially discouraged me from leaving town.  Not only was the traffic in the store CRAZY buttt the traffic in AA (Squared) was also crazy even at THREE 'O Clock....sooo I HAD to stop at MICHAELS....  and concurrently DSW and TJ MAXXXX.  I swear I was still wanting to leave town... buutttt Lizzy had already let me know that she wouldn't be done until 6:00 p.m. tomorrow night SOOO I headed home.  This is where I digress, I HATE MICHIGAN DRIVERS!!!!!  Traffic was sooooooo baddddd, I feel like typically I do a pretty OKAY job at keeping a positive attitude BUT, when my ride home took me and wayyyyyyyy over an hour...and should have taken me 30 min. I was no longer motivated AT all to drive to Erie....  SO decision made---- I can't wait to get some sleep and drive tomorrow!!!!

While I had the night by myself I made some TRIAL ornaments gift topper ideas......  not sure if I love them or hate them.....

anndddddd BTW I also ENJOYED my new favorite show just a little bit TOOOO much....even thought I was sad not to be in ERIE.....   The show that took my mind off of traffic and my busy day?!?!  GLEE...if you don't know if you love Glee please let me know and I will personally burn you the first few CDS!   I can officially coin myself as a GLEEK!

But seriously please pray for me tomorrow when I travel---and Cal too!

SO many craft ideas and SO little time!!!

I swear every time I talk to one of my newest girlfriends-LIZ, TAB and ANNIE or my SISTER LIZZIE I have LISTS of new arts and crafts I think I would like to try!  (This is when I realize I REALLY need a journal like Tabitha's to write these things down!!  Maybe you will have to teach me how to make on at one of our girls nights?!?)  I am blown away by everyones ideas and lets just say I am more than a little bit INSPIRED!

Girls night this week turned into arts and crafts night---HOW FUN!

(Photo credit to Matt and Tabitha)

My final-ish product...thinking I need to print a picture and add it to the blank side.  AND as a side note I used a drill to make holes and I still have all of my fingers so that is exciting!

My first attempt at making blocks...those who know me well know I can't have enough University of Michigan stuff sooo I made myself a cute ornament-still need to add an eyelet and a ribbon but I like it!

And soon to come on the blog-a bucket list of things to do in Ann Arbor before I am GONE & pictures of the little beauty Lauren (as long as it is okay with her momma!)

Its looking a LOT like Christmas at the house on Hamburg Lake

Well it is official-its christmas time in my little neck of the world!

This means: putting away the pumpkins-mixed feeling about that, I think I love fall decorations the best...

BUT I do love the traditions and memories that go along with going through the many many bins of Christmas stuff and literally putting the stuff  EVERYWHERE!

So let me give the tour AND explain some of my wonderful, special and NEW family traditions!

Christmas Tradition and Memory #1:

We have to start with my one and only Christmas-village-building from my dad....
My very own dental office, I am not sure if I can explain how special it is to me...maybe it is so special to me because my dad personalized for me!!!  Or maybe it is SO special to me because for as long as I can remember my sister and I have been buying my dad houses/shops/churches/people...for his Christmas gifts and EVERY YEAR he is so cute at taking over the top of the kitchen cabinets to proudly display his MANY MANY gifts with love and pride.

Christmas Tradition and Memory #2:

Since my sister and I were little we have had our very own special stocking that looked A LOT like these.  I loved our old Christmas stocking and the memories of the fruit, peanuts and fun little treasures they always held each Christmas.  I know these stocking were made for us by a family member and now that I am thinking about it I should make sure to get the entire story about who made them....but what I do know is that you can't find these ANYWHERE or at least that is what I thought until I found these wonderful stockings at Macy's after Christmas sale...I understand they are not the most beautiful, matchy-matchy stockings and therefore may not be as popular, but LUCKY for me I loved them and there were a bunch to choose from at 70% off!!!  Needless to say Lindsey felt the same sentiment I did for these stockings so I grabbed a few for her also.

Christmas Tradition and Memory #3:

For as long as I can remember my mom has been VERY crafty (I wonder where I get it from?!) in fact my mom was so crafty that she used to make her own Christmas decorations.  I have wonderful memories of her putting her decorations all over the house but my favorite was always this Santa Clause.  I don't know if it was his jolly look or his odd proportions but I just LOVED him sooo much.  Mom knew how I felt about the jolly little man and so she had duplicates cut out of wood, she sanded and painted and personalized one for both my sister and I and gave them to us last year.  I smile every time I see him in my living room because I know how much work went into making him for me AND because it reminds me of wonderful childhood memories.

I feel as though I have done well incorporating my most favorite and special memories from my childhood into my adult version of Christmas, however there is one tradition and area that I have been lacking---that is advent calenders....but that changes THIS YEAR!!!

New Christmas Tradition and OLD memories:

Growing up Lindsey and I always had an advent calendar of sorts....some had stories, some had pretty pictures and some had chocolates (which our dog ginger always managed to get off of the wall and eat by the second day which cause Lindsey and I to cry).  I have tried to carry on this tradition but have fallen short, Cal and I don't really like the chocolates included in the generic advent calenders and ultimately we would forget about them.....but not this year!  This year I have taken it upon myself to start a new tradition, partially because I think it will be fun, partially because it is something I want to do with our children someday and partly because Cal and I are apart and it would be nice to have notes/treats from each other everyday.

I already have this bottom one all filled up for Cal....hope he is as excited as I am about the idea!

And finally a few pretty/crafty "moments" of the house tour:

(just wrapped ribbon around the candles but I really enjoy how they look)

My Christmas tree is in a CROCK, LOVE IT!

I also love old sleds, I can't wait to take my other two outside and decorate with them....I am holding off on the outside decorations until after Thanksgiving day...don't want to scare the neighbors!

Big thanks to Lindsey Faye for the new-old WINDOW, I had fun putting seasonal paper in there-she inspired this one!

Christmas plaque thing!

Added ribbon to my candles around the house in preparation for christmas decorations---amazing how much a glue gun and ribbon can do to ALL of my candle!!!  ***Note my home goods table runner I am planning my Christmas decorating around!!!

Made some candles!!!-----loveeee them!!!

And my first bracelets EVER!!!

FAMILY/FRIENDS-let me know what your favorite colors are---I can make jewelry especially for you---I wear wayyy to much of this light pick so I have been having fun making things to go with what I ALWAYS wear!!!  Let me know if you like any of my crafty things....I like to make them with love for you and you might like to have them---win win!

Fun Finds on Etsy!

I must admit that I am new to the world of ETSY but I LOVE IT!!!  Here are some of my fun inspirations and ideas for gifts/additions to my own wish list!

I have to admit I am sick of the walgreens version of photo christmas cards, HOW CUTE that you can buy this template and have it personalized for only $16.00 what a great idea!

to check it out here

Etsy is also a great place to find great IDEAS!  And I know my wedding day has long past but with Lindsey, Emily, Tessa and Becki all unwed I have to say I have been having fun coming up with new ideas, it is funny how I said after months of work on my making EVERYTHING for my wedding I would never want to make that kind of stuff again and suddenly I can't WAIT to help my friends/family make there invites!!!!  I though since October weddings seem to be popular among my friends this seemed like a cute idea:

How about a flower girl spreading these little pumpkins instead of flower petals??  I also think these would be cute all over my house...it is amazing how many little decorative bowls, plates and crocks I have!

I also thought these were cute ideas from this same site!

to see more from this Etsy site click here

And my final Etsy find of the night:

How cute is that?!?!

Love it?  click here!

New hobbies, old hobbies and fun finds!

I finally have my wonderful camera back...Cal might not be getting it back for a long LONG time!!!  I have been so excited to share my new hobby with my blog world!  I am getting into MAKING jewelry.  I am not sure if I am more in love with the wonderful time I am spending DOING my new hobby OR if it is the idea that I might be able to GIVE my jewelry away-regardless I am happy!  Sooo you can imagine how excited I was tonight to get my long lost camera out (it has been with Cal for the last month!) and try to capture my work....buttttt it was too late in the day and the lighting just wouldn't work sooo here are so pictures with bad lighting just so you can get the idea!  Family/Friends if you like what you see let me know..as I said I am just as excited about making as GIVING!

And this last picture is a wonderful transition into the second half of this blog post-my fun finds of the weekend!  For those of you who don't know I LOVE ANTIQUES!!!!!!!  The type of antiques that I obsess over usually stem from something I see in a pottery barn magazine...not sure where my latest one came from but its all about SCALES for me right now!  The scale in this last picture was from a post office a LONG time ago!  Shipping was between 1-10 cents depending on weight of course-think of the things I could ship for that cost!

And....my last find was a kitchen scale-----I have been looking for one FOREVER!!! I am super excited to change what I have setting on it every other minute!

And finally an old hobby, or at least project I have been thinking I need to try again and re-invent:

I am picturing doing something a bit more antique-ish this time with a christmas word for holiday decorating!  I have all kind of ideas for holiday decorum, this is just one of the many projects I am wanting to take on---more on that to come!
