What a GREAT weekend! I had visitors! Amy Rose and Pacey came to stay for the weekend. We had a wonderful time. Pace is the cutest baby ever and I had some fun taking pictures of course! Pace has grow so much, he is sitting up and is fun to play with. The girls had fun playing with him too. We were busy-let see...we grilled out, went shopping, went out to eat, and got hooked on a new tv series-Lost! Now I am enjoying my Sunday cuddled up on the couch wishing my visitors didn't have to leave and waiting for my love to return.

I just love every little wrinkle
Look at those baby blues

I love his little toes

No more ice!!!

Today the I came home to find the lake back to its summertime glory---no more ice!!! The swans are excited, the ducks are excited, my puppies are excited and boy oh boy am I excited! I really need to ask our landlord if we can get the kaiaks out of her shed because I can't think of anything more exciting than going out on the water! Wooohooo!!! Time to crank up some country music----spring is here!

This weekend was a wonderful!! Friday night I was able to celebrate Sarah's birthday, it was great to see her family and friends. I was also able to spend some time with friends I haven't seen in a while. I ended the night by hanging out with one of my favorite friends Tessa---we always seem to have a riot together...and that was our night together to say the least! Saturday Tessa, Cal and I made fried potatoes (not half as good as my grandpa makes, but I tried) and we went to the outlet mall---gap has some great finds!!! And then we met Cal's buddy and went to a bar grill called the Blue Tractor---I have never had fried pickle chips before but wow are they good! I even managed to eat ribs while wearing a white sweater and stay clean!!!! (Huge accomplishment for me!) And then we went to a comedy club in Ann Arbor--what a blast my face hurt from laughing soooo much!!!! Sunday I was able to go and see my other favorite friend Becks-she just moved into her new house this past week....I have seen pictures and heard about her and Nicks trials and tribulations that went along with remodeling their house--it was so great to see it all put together and completed! I can't wait until Cal and I have our first home...we obsess about remodeling ideas. I would love to have a fixer-upper I would love to try to renovate inexpensively---how fun, and how cool to be so creative!

This week has been soooo busy.... I am having a very very hard time working so hard and going going non-stop. I have been surprised by how burned out I feel....oooh well I am getting my things done (lots of test cases) and I am learning so I guess this is what I am here for! I am trying to keep my spirits high, only a few more weeks until the semester is over and I will have a month off!
Happy St. Patties day! This is my dorky dental joke for this great holiday. This day always reminds me of when I was little and my mom would dress me up in my bright green "knickers" and matching green vest made of velvet material.... To complete the outfit I would wear a white turtle neck, white tights as well as a green shamrock pin! Wow am I ever sorry I don't have a picture of that....wait I am sure there is one somewhere, maybe someday I will come across one and share it with everyone!

Great news from this weekend.....my friends the swans came back! Can you believe it?! Saturday was the first day that we had a small ring of open lake water and just a few hours later I saw our swans.... I guess I don't know for sure that they are the same ones from last year but I think they are :o)

They kept belly crawling onto the ice only to crack through, and belly crawl back up again! It was so fun to watch. Who knew living on the lake would make me crazy about birds...but they were such a neat part of last summer. When we first moved into our house last year there was a family of swans two parents and 4 babies. We watched the babies grow up to the point that they we weren't able to tell the parents from the babies---sooo cool!

Spring is on the way-the lake has melted about 5 feet since this picture! Todays temp. of 67 degrees helped! Cal and I went out and dug in the dirt tonight and I even had time to relax and take a nap outside on the hammock (of course with my beautiful quilt that Linds gave me).

It is that time of the year---"muddy paws time" of the year.... This too shall pass!

Aren't these flowers amazing?! I am so proud that I haven't killed this plant--this plant is the most special plant I own. Not only have I not killed it, but it has blooms on almost every leaf! Maybe it likes that lake house as much as I do!

Kylie and Quincy got their hairs cut this weekend!!! Doesn't Kylies butt look great all trimmed up?! Cal does such a good job keeping these girls beautiful with wonderful spring time haircuts!

Where we were just a few short weeks ago! I have to say I like the view better now that there is no snow!

LOVE

Thought I should share some photos that really capture the things that I love:

Cal, Quincy, Kylie and I live on a small lake outside of Ann Arbor, I LOVE this lake! I would have never imagined I would have so much lake fun not only in the summer but the winter as well! Note the beautiful ice skating rink Cal/Caleb (as he prefers to be called) worked hard to maintain earlier this winter. We take walks on the lake, ice skate and play on the lake all of the time---except when it is covered in a foot of slush as it is right now.

My baby Kylie-she is 3ish, but Cal/Caleb and I realized we have been telling people she is 4+ for a while now.... maybe because she is very mature for her age OR we are just bad parents?!?

Ohhhh how I miss green grass---I promise to never take green grass for granted this summer.

The sunsets from our backyard are amazing. I have been missing them this winter when the sky is gray. I do have to say I did see the sun and a blue sky today and I had to take a second to pause and enjoy it-who knows when we will see that again!

Quincy/Winny-my first love forever, my girl, the best dog in the world. Quincy has been by my side through so many of my life events thus far, she is so sensitive to my emotions and I love her beyond words.

Not to bad for my first day of blogging right Liz??!!
Tomorrow I might want to reflect on my hospital rotation this week....ahhh is all that I can say.

How to start....

Well, I guess I should begin by saying I am a sceptic when it comes to "this blog stuff"....but my darling sister and blogger is wishing I might get hooked. So, I am not sure what my goals for this blog are... I suppose they are two fold-for myself: perhaps to sort out my thoughts and try to better put everyday events/stuff into better perspective and for everyone: I would like to stay in touch on a more personal level.... And lets face it I do like to take pictures--so I can see how sharing them via "the blog" might be fun.

And as Lindsey (my sister) has made very clear to me---blogs are the best when they are a two way street when it comes to communication---so leave messages!
